🔥🚔 Fire Country Meets Sheriff Country: CBS Promises Explosive Crossovers Fans Won’t See Coming

In a little more than a month, fans of Fire Country will finally be able to follow Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) as she flies solo on the highly anticipated spin-off series Sheriff Country. During a CBS press conference to promote their new fall shows — in which Collider was present — the main cast, executive producers, and creators Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, and Joan Rater talked about several aspects of the show, including crossovers, relationships, and what fans can expect to see in the new series.

“We have some really big crossovers coming your way. In fact, my buddy W. Earl Brown [who plays Mickey’s father Wes] over here is with me in Vancouver right now, I’m shooting Episode 5, and I just can’t wait to see, can’t wait for all the fans to see how this storyline intertwines with the rest of the world we’re building. It’s going to open up some really, really exciting possibilities, some really fun stuff across both shows and a lot of things we haven’t explored yet, so can’t wait to share all of that with you.”

‘Sheriff Country’ Will Show That “Life Is Messy”

New 'Sheriff Country' Sneak Peek Offers First Look At 'Fire Country' Crossover

We previously saw a bit of the potential of crossovers when Fire Country introduced Mickey’s father and fans realized that their relationship is far from ideal. Still at the press conference, Morena Baccarin talked about the relationships of her character and delved a bit into the psyche of Mickey Fox. Baccarin revealed that one of the protagonist’s struggles is that “she knows she is competent” and sees everything in black and white, but the show is about putting Mickey in moral gray areas and seeing how she deals with it. The worst part for Mickey is, the gray areas she’s forced to deal with are all within the family:

“She’s got this relationship with her daughter that’s incredibly complicated. Her father is literally growing illegal weed and she’s a sheriff, and she’s got her ex-husband who is doing some things that she does not agree with.”

According to the team, the way that Mickey will handle all these things is the way of Sheriff Country telling us that “life is messy” and one of the most interesting aspects of the series will be to see the human characters dealing with extremely human problems.
