Bridgerton’s Katie Leung and Isabella Wei Reveal If They’d Return for Future Seasons (Exclusive)

Will the Penwoods be back for more Bridgerton?
The season 4 newcomers, Lady Araminta Gun (Katie Leung) and her daughters Rosamund (Michelle Mao) and Posy (Isabella Wei), left off with their business in London somewhat wrapped up. Araminta gave in to Violet (Ruth Gemmell) and Benedict Bridgerton’s (Luke Thompson) demands at the Queen’s Ball, allowing Sophie (Yerin Ha) to take a Penwood family name after they exposed that Araminta stole Sophie’s dowry for Rosamund.
Sophie and Benedict then got Queen Charlotte’s (Golda Rosheuvel) approval to marry, leaving Araminta and Rosamund defeated. Posy, though, was always like a true sister to Sophie, and remained so despite her mother’s betrayal.
Posy then attended Sophie and Benedict’s wedding, which took place in a post-credits scene at the end of the season 4 finale episode, further cementing her status in Sophie’s life.
Now that season 4 has come to an end, Leung, 38, and Wei, 21, tell PEOPLE whether they see a return for their characters in future installments.
“I’d love to. It would be great,” Wei says, and Leung agrees: “I’d love to as well.”
“Definitely,” the Harry Potter alum agrees, though she’s not too sure where Araminta would fit into a future story. “I don’t know what she would do, though, if Araminta came back. Cause she’s had her comeuppance and everything,” Leung says, referring to the tense moment between her and Violet at the Queen’s Ball.
One idea she offers is “a budding new romance for Araminta, because I think that’s what she needs.” Leung continues, “She needs a bit of love in her life. Or a third husband. Or a grandchild!”

Both Wei and Leung say that the response to their characters and to the season overall has been “great.”
“It’s been wonderful,” Wei says. “I’m going to speak about your character, but everything that I’ve been seeing has been — [fans] hate Araminta, but they say that Katie’s so good, so therefore they can hate Araminta, which just makes me so happy to see.”
“I’ve seen a lot of reactions like this to other characters as well. Even Michelle, who plays Rosamund — just a lot of these kinds of characters who are getting a lot of love.”
As Leung points out, Wei is “everyone’s new favorite,” and she says she’s “very grateful” for the love. “Posy is everyone’s favorite princess. It’s so cute,” Leung tells her costar. “And I’m really happy for you.”
