5 New House Of The Dragon Season 2 Characters Cast

Five new characters for House of the Dragon season 2 have been cast, coming after confirmation of Cregan Stark’s arrival to the series.
House of the Dragon has cast five new characters for season 2, expanding the ensemble series for its next batch of episodes. The next season of the Game of Thrones prequel will see the Dance of the Dragons begin, a civil war destined to plunge Westeros into turmoil. Consisting of eight episodes, the new season will premiere on HBO in summer 2024.
Now, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed the addition of five new cast members in House of the Dragon season 2, accompanied by the announcement of Tom Taylor portraying Cregan Stark. These new cast members round out the already massive number of new faces season 2 has to offer. The latest additions are as follows:

What House Of The Dragon’s Newcomers Mean For Season 2
Multiple characters announced seem as if they may be riding dragons during the war, with Hugh and Ulf in particular likely Hugh the Hammer and Ulf White from George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood. Addam is brother to Alynn of Hull, though it’s unclear if he will be riding a dragon during the war. As for those knighted, Ser Alfred is a senior knight of the Blacks at Dragonstone, while Ser Rickard is a knight siding with the Greens at King’s Landing.

House of the Dragon season 1 ended with Rhaenyra Targaryen’s son, Lucerys Velaryon, being eaten by Aemond Targaryen’s dragon Vhagar. The moment seems to spur the queen to war, indicating all the new characters introduced will be part of the blood-soaked conflict to come. While it’s unclear what all of their fates will be, they will no doubt have important contributions to make as the civil war begins.
With massive battles teased for House of the Dragon’s future, Rhaenyra’s war with Alicent Hightower will only get bigger from this point on. It remains to be seen how many of the new characters will become memorable, long-standing figures in the conflict, or how many will die in its earliest days. Nevertheless, their introduction sets up a complex narrative web for season 2 to spin when it returns.
