When Chicago Fire season 11 ended, the NBC series left viewers with many questions resulting from a few shocking cliffhangers. The season 11 finale featured Firehouse 51 reuniting with Matt Casey to track down a domestic terrorism group. As a result, instead of the firefighters running headfirst into a blazing fire, they had to deal with snipers.
Aside from the hostile threat, the characters also encountered a couple of other obstacles during the episode, and they were mostly romance-related. As the show heads into its next season, the writers must resolve a handful of relationship drama storylines while also addressing the fate of one character. Hopefully, Chicago Fire fans don’t have to wait too long for answers.
7.Will Mouch Die In Chicago Fire Season 12?
When the sniper started shooting at Firehouse 51 at the power grid in Chicago Fire season 11, episode 22, it was inevitable that someone would get hurt. Unfortunately, that person was Mouch. He was hit in the side by some shrapnel and rushed to the hospital, where doctors took him into surgery. At first, it seemed like Mouch would survive and was in recovery in a hospital room. But when Herrmann visited his friend, the color rapidly drained from Mouch’s face, and Herrmann noticed that he was excessively bleeding from his wound.
Mouch started coding, and doctors rushed in to help him while Herrmann looked on helplessly. However, fans won’t find out if Mouch survives until the show returns with new episodes. If he does, it might be time for him to finally retire and get away from the dangers of being a firefighter. Hopefully, if Mouch does exit Chicago Fire, it’s because he leaves Firehouse 51 of his own volition, not because he dies from a stray bullet.
6.What Does Brett Say To Casey’s Proposal?
Just when Casey and Brett seemed to be on the right path in Chicago Fire, he was leaving to care for Andy Darden’s sons in Oregon. As a result, the couple tried to have a long-distance relationship, but it wasn’t working out, so Brett broke up with Casey at the beginning of season 11. She tried to move on, but Dylan could never replace Casey in Brett’s heart. When Casey briefly returned to Chicago during the finale, it was obvious that their love for one another never went away.
Casey helped Brett adopt a baby, and after Dylan broke up with Brett, Casey was determined to win the love of his life back. He showed up at her apartment, got down on one knee, and proposed to her with an engagement ring he purchased a year and a half ago. However, the only problem is that Casey still has to return to Oregon. The couple’s situation hasn’t changed, yet Casey wants Brett to marry him. Fans won’t find out Brett’s answer until Chicago Fire season 12 premieres, but unless something changes regarding their living situation, it’s unlikely that she will say yes.
5.Is Brett Leaving Chicago Fire?
If Brett says yes to Casey’s proposal in the Chicago Fire season 12 premiere, a couple more questions arise. Casey still has one year left in Oregon before the youngest Darden son heads off to college. So perhaps Brett will temporarily move herself and her new adopted daughter, Julia, to the West Coast to be with her fiancé. Or maybe they’ll find a permanent home in Portland.
The legalities of the situation might be complicated due to Brett only being Julia’s legal guardian and not her official adoptive mother, but Chicago Fire frequently bends the fine line between fiction and reality. So it wouldn’t be too far-fetched if Brett accepts Casey’s proposal and joins him in Oregon. If that’s the case, that means Firehouse 51 and Chicago Fire fans have yet another beloved character to say goodbye to.
4.Will Casey Return To Chicago Fire?
On the flip side, perhaps Casey’s proposal in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale means that he has a plan to return to Chicago earlier than expected. It doesn’t make sense for Casey to ask for Brett’s hand in marriage if they were going to continue to be apart for one more year. So Jesse Spencer may be returning to Chicago Fire full-time in season 12.
If the actor is committed to only showing up in Chicago from time to time, Casey could still theoretically move back to Chicago, but he would have to work at another firehouse. Overall, there are multiple different paths for the Casey/Brett proposal storyline to take. However, the answers to all the questions surrounding the cliffhanger won’t come until the Chicago Fire season 12 premiere.
3.Will Carver Act On His Feelings For Stella?
Shep, the homeless man that the firefighters saved in Chicago Fire season 11, episode 20, believed that Stella and Carver were dating, and as it turns out, Carver wishes that was his reality. He hasn’t said, “I have a crush on Stella” aloud, but his eyes tell viewers everything they need to know. Carver undoubtedly has feelings for his lieutenant, but the fact that she is married to Severide complicates things.
Unless Stella and Severide divorce, Carver probably shouldn’t mention his crush to anyone or make a move. Stella is focused on working on her marriage, so she doesn’t have a lot of time to entertain Carver’s feelings for her. Instead, Carver could shift his eyes to another Firehouse 51 member who is single and definitely has a thing for him in Chicago Fire season 12.
2.Does Violet Have A Serious Crush On Carver?
During the final episodes of Chicago Fire season 11, the audience noticed that Violet’s eyes would linger on Carver, and the longing looks were anything but platonic. When Brett questioned her partner about her obvious staring, Violet denied that she had any feelings for Carver. She claimed that she was only looking because he looked good in a towel.
The last serious Chicago Fire relationship Violet was in was with Evan Hawkins, and it came to a traumatic end when he died during a call. It’s possible that she’s not ready for a committed relationship, so it makes sense that she’s downplaying her crush on Carver. Given that Carver has a thing for Stella means that Violet probably shouldn’t pursue anything with him in Chicago Fire season 12, but these characters don’t always make the best choices.
1.Does Stella Find Severide & Bring Him Home In Chicago Fire Season 12?
Taylor Kinney took a leave of absence from Chicago Fire during the middle of season 11. To account for the actor’s absence, the writers sent Severide to an OFI training camp. But during the season’s penultimate episode, Cruz discovered that Severide wasn’t being honest about his whereabouts. The training camp had ended, and instead of returning to Chicago, Severide joined an ATF investigation without notifying his wife. Now, Stella is on a mission to find her husband and bring him back home.
If Kinney doesn’t return to the show, the writers have a semi-plausible opening for Severide’s exit. Stella could find him, but he chooses to stay away, and they get a divorce. Or, if Kinney doesn’t leave, Severide will likely follow Stella back to Chicago, and they will work on their marriage in Chicago Fire season 12.
