A new clip from Tracker season 2 showcases the latest high-octane adventure for Colter Shaw (Justin Hartley). Shaw, who is a lone wolf survivalist who uses his tracking skills to earn rewards, is the lead character of the CBS action drama series, which also stars Abby McEnany as his handler Velma Bruin, Eric Graise as hacker Bobby Exley, and Fiona Rene as attorney Reenie Greene. The 20-episode season 2 is still ongoing, though it will not end the series, as Tracker season 3 has already been renewed.
ScreenRant can now share an exclusive clip from Tracker season 2, episode 11, which is titled “Shades of Gray.” The clip begins with Shaw knocking on the door of a character named Lucy, asking if Matt is with her. When he discovers water surging on the floor, he kicks down the door to find Lucy bound and gagged in the bathroom next to an overflowing bathtub. After he turns off the water and takes out the gag, she tells him that “they took Matt,” a revelation to which Colter gives a grim, but determined look. See the clip below:
“Shades of Gray,” which premiered on March 2, was directed by Darren Grant and written by Travis Donnelly and Jordan Goodman. The episode will also feature the return of Michael Rady as Elliot, who first appeared in season 2, episode 4, “Noble Rot”, as Reenie’s plus one for a Napa wellness retreat.
What This Means For Tracker Season 2
Colter Shaw Is Facing A Dangerous Enemy
While the clip does not feature any other members of the main Tracker cast, the terrifying scene that Colter discovered in Lucy’s apartment could have dangerous implications for all of them. Colter is clearly not the only person looking for Matt, and he may not be the most dangerous, so it may take all of their combined skills to overcome this new obstacle. The teased storyline of the episode also promises that his latest adventure will become even more complex. Read the official synopsis for the episode below:
While tracking the son of a prominent New Jersey cupcake chain founder, Colter gets thrust into the middle of a violent mafia war.
It seems most likely that Matt is the missing son in question, while Lucy may be the New Jersey cupcake chain founder. While her career is seemingly innocent, as was Colter’s visit to her apartment at the beginning of the clip, the stakes seem to be higher than ever before. It remains to be seen exactly how a mafia war fits into the storyline teased in this clip, but Colter will now be facing off against organized professionals, who could tax him and his support team considerably.
Our Take On The New Tracker Season 2 Clip
It Could Tease What Is To Come
While the newest episode is just over halfway through the run of season 2, it seems entirely possible that this mafia war could start a new mini-arc that lasts several episodes. Now that Tracker season 2, episode 10 has somewhat reset Colter’s story after the resolution of the Pickett case, this could be the perfect time to introduce another major challenge for the character to face that provides a shape to the overarching storyline of the ongoing season.
Tracker airs on Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).
