‘FBI: International’ Canceled – Stars Share Emotional Farewells with Fans

FBI: International’s cast have reacted to the show’s shocking cancellation. CBS announced earlier this month it was axing both current FBI spinoffs, International and Most Wanted.

The network’s surprising cancellation of two of its most popular procedures leaves only the original FBI series on the air for now. Franchise creator Dick Wolf is developing another potential spinoff titled FBI: CIA, about a joint FBI-CIA Taskforce fighting terrorism.

Vinessa Vidotto and Eva-Jane Willis Respond to FBI: International’s Cancelation

Vinessa Vidotto, who plays Special Agent Cameron Vo, responded to FBI: International’s demise via Instagram by paying tribute to the four years she has spent in Hungary filming the action-drama.

“Never did I think this would be my life. I’ve lived in Hungary longer than LA, like what!?” she wrote. “If someone told me THAT, I wouldn’t believe it. Booking this role was also my first time traveling to Europe. What does jetlag feel like? What’s the currency exchange rate, and which do you choose when you pay- forint or US? And I didn’t know a lick of Hungarian.”

Now with a “wee bit of Hungarian” under her belt, Vidotto insists it was “an honor to have lived in Hungary.”

“Thank you for watching our show and being invested,” she wrote to viewers. “I’ve met so many of yall in the funniest places from the post office to being on a ferris wheel. It’s been challenging and beautiful to have played Cameron Vo. As an actor, being able to learn on set every day for 10 months a year, it’s been the most intense learning experience. I needed this chapter, I’m filled with gratitude. And now it’s time to graduate and grow, again.”

FBI: International Premiered in October 2021

The Series Was a Collaboration between Law & Order veteran Dick Wolf and One Chicago’s Derek Haas

FBI: International was the second of three spin-offs for the main FBI series.
Showrunner Derek Haas worked extensively with Dick Wolf on the One Chicago shows on NBC before jumping over to CBS for the FBI franchise.
CBS is still developing an FBI spinoff centered around the Bureau working in tandem with the CIA.
Her co-star Eva-Jane Willis, who has portrayed Interpol agent Megan “Smitty” Garretson throughout FBI: International’s run, insisted there were “no words” to describe her time on the CBS show.

“So many fantastic friendships on screen and off. So many countries. So many adventures. Loved every minute,” she wrote via Instagram. “Thank you to all the people who worked their asses off and made this possible. Legends all. love and prosperity to each and every one of you.”

FBI: Most Wanted star Keisha Castle-Hughes responded to CBS’s disappointing decision by saying it was “true privilege to play Hana Gibson over six seasons.”

FBI: International Airs its Series Finale This Spring

“Thanks to Wolf Films and to CBS, [producer] David Hudgins and [director] Ken Girotti, for supporting an incredible run of the show. I will treasure the memories and the friendships built over my time on the series and the years spent,” Castle-Hughes said. “My deepest gratitude goes to the hardworking crews from New York. These are the people who have carried me through frigid winters and sweltering summers, early mornings and long days, and because of them it was never hard.”

FBI star Zeeko Zak recently expressed hope that some of FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International’s storylines could carry on.

“I think, at the end of the day, even with the shows being canceled, the world still exists,” he told Screen Rant. “I’m hoping that we get to still play with some of the actors and those storylines get to continue in some way, shape, or form in the Wolf Universe. But I am definitely not the one to know the answer to that question.”

FBI: International airs new episodes every Tuesday at 9pm ET, following FBI at 8pm ET. FBI: Most Wanted follows at 10pm ET.
