The next spinoff of “The Boys,” the prequel series “Vought Rising,” has added some new talent to the cast. Will Hochman of “Blue Bloods” fame has been cast in the series, as has Elizabeth Posey from “Euphoria.” We don’t have specifics about either casting, other than Posey is part of the leading cast.
This news makes Posey and Hochman the third and fourth confirmed cast members of “Vought Rising.” The series is described as a “twisted murder mystery” set in the 1950s. It will see Jensen Ackles reprise his “The Boys” role as Soldier Boy, and likewise, Aya Cash will return as Stormfront.

It’s been speculated that Mason Dye will join the cast of “Vought Rising,” but this hasn’t been confirmed. Dye will appear in the fifth and final season of “The Boys” as a supe named Bombsight who is said to be one of the oldest supes in existence. It’s speculated that part of the point of introducing Bombsight in Season 5 is so he can be used in “Vought Rising.”
Will Hochman was last seen in the final five seasons of the police procedural “Blue Bloods.” Hochman plays Joe Hill in the series, a recurring part that quickly became a fan-favorite. He’s also made memorable appearances in the psychological horror film “Master,” the comedy “The Greatest Beer Run Ever,” and the Billy Crystal-starring Apple TV+ thriller “Before.”
Elizabeth Posey enjoyed two episodes of the professional wrestling drama “Heels,” and well-remembered appearances in the comedy “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” and in the coming-of-age drama “Gully.”
“Vought Rising” will be the third spinoff of Amazon’s popular superhero satire “The Boys.” First came the non-canonical animated anthology series “The Boys Presents: Diabolical,” followed by the series about supes in college, “Gen V.” Still to come is “The Boys: Mexico,” a Spanish language series starring Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal set in the titular country.
Probably the biggest casting news related to “The Boys” came not too long ago about the original series. It was confirmed that Season 5 would include a bonafide “Supernatural” reunion. Jensen Ackles will return as Soldier Boy, and fellow “Supernatural” alum Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will join the series in undisclosed roles.
