5 Things We Know About the Upcoming ‘Blue Bloods’ Season 14 Series Finale: Eddie’s Hospitalization, More

It will be hard to say goodbye to our favorite Blue Bloods characters during the show’s finale, but fans can’t wait to see how things wrap up for the Reagan crew.

“I think that fans are going to be really left satisfied, but then also wanting more,” Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin Reagan, told TV Insider in November 2024 of the series finale.

The show’s final episode is titled “End of Tour.” It will premiere on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Ahead of the finale, CBS shared some interesting tidbits and clues about what’s to come.

Danny and Henry Reagan Will Have an Important Conversation

In a sneak peek of a scene released by CBS ahead of the finale, Donnie Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan and Len Cariou’s Henry Reagan have a heart-to-heart conversation.

“I always told you not to bring the job home,” Henry tells Danny, to which he replies, “I know, leave it in my locker after my tour.”

“But the problem now is…” Henry trails off before Danny says, “That I don’t have anybody not to bring it home to.”

Eddie Will End Up in the Hospital

In photos from the finale released by CBS, Eddie Janko-Reagan, played by Vanessa Ray, wears a hospital gown and sits in a wheelchair. She seems in distress as she speaks to Danny Reagan. Mayor Peter Chase, played by Dylan Walsh, also ends up in the hospital, suffering an injury to his arm. Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck, will go to visit him.

Jack Boyle Is Back

He’s back again! Peter Hermann will return as Erin Reagan’s ex-husband, Jack Boyle, in the series finale.

“The rest of the family really is not into him,” Bridget Moynahan, who plays Erin, told TV Insider of how her character’s story with Jack will end. “This season he does come in a few times, and I think that people are going to be really excited about the last episode in regards to that story line.”

The Finale Will Have a Big Guest Star

CBS announced that Academy Award nominee Edward James Olmos will guest star in the episode. In photos released by the network, he is seen speaking with Frank.

The Funeral Scene Is Coming

It’s the scene that everyone can’t stop talking about and it hasn’t even aired on TV yet. There will be a funeral in the Blue Bloods series finale. According to photos released by CBS, the following characters will be in attendance to pay their respects to the deceased: Frank, Henry, Danny, Jamie, Eddie, Erin, Peter, Jack, Joe Hill, Abigail Baker, Maria Baez and DCPI Garrett Moore.

In a trailer for the second half of season 14, the group was seen saluting the coffin while dressed in uniform.
