Doris Roberts, star of Everybody Loves Raymond, dies at 90

Doris Roberts has died at the age of 90.

Spokeswoman Janet Daily said Monday that Roberts died overnight in her sleep in Los Angeles. Daily was told of the death by Roberts’ son, Michael Cannata.

The actor, who was best known for her work on Everybody Loves Raymond, died Sunday at the age of 90.
She would win five Emmys as Best Supporting Actress for her work as Marie Barone on the hit TV series which ran from 1996-2005.

Patricia Heaton, who played Roberts’ daughter-in-law on the show, tweeted out her sympathies.
In the 1980s, Roberts was also a regular on Remington Steele and Angie.

While she was best known for her TV work, she also appeared in countless films including The Heartbreak Kid, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
