Katherine Kelly Lang Celebrates 38 Years on The Bold and the Beautiful With Heartfelt Reflection

Katherine Kelly Lang has been a part of The Bold and the Beautiful since the very beginning. Thirty-eight years later, the Brooke Logan actress reflects on how the more things change, the more they truly do stay the same.

Lang spoke with Numéro Netherlandsto discuss her time on the show. Reflecting on what she thinks keeps her character and the show relevant to viewers after all of this time, the actress shared, “The secret to enduring success is a melange of a lot of different elements. ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ head writer Brad Bell knows how to strike a balance between keeping the show new and exciting and also giving the viewers the same great stories they’ve always known and loved. The show is about a glamorous, successful fashion family in Los Angeles. The characters are unforgettable, and the plot twists are jaw-dropping. The fashion featured on the show is gorgeous, and there are a lot of mysteries. You never know when one of the many delicious secrets will be compromised and then which lives will be shattered. Through it all, Brooke has a heart of gold, and no matter what, the Forrester Family always triumphs.”

Like everything else, things over the last three decades have changed and evolved on The Bold and The Beautiful. Lang reflected on these differences saying, “We keep shooting the scenes in less time. And the storyline reveals have sped up as well. But what stays the same is the broadcast schedule. Five days a week, Monday through Friday, with a cliffhanger on Fridays. Now, there are several cliffhangers throughout the week and maybe three on Fridays. Also, now people have the opportunity to record the episodes and watch them all at the same time on the weekend. Or they subscribe to a streaming service and binge-watch the episodes all at one time.”

This year promises to be a busy one for Lang on the show. Currently Brooke’s rival Taylor Hayes (Rebecca Budig) recently returned to town. Now she’s back in her on-again-off-again love interest Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) life. The question is will this be a reunion for the former lovers? Or is Brooke and Ridge’s relationship strong enough to navigate the storm? Meanwhile, actor Jack Wagner will be reprising his role as Brooke Logan’s ex-husband Nick Marone for a story arc beginning this June.
