The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Liam Spencer’s Shocking Fate Finally Revealed

Fans have anxiously been awaiting the news of what Liam’s (Scott Clifton) fate would be on The Bold and the Beautiful after the character randomly collapsed. Following weeks of anticipation, we finally have an answer.

On April 18, 2025, Liam was determined to leave the hospital. It was the day of his daughter Kelly’s father-daughter dance, and he was going to be there. Liam had been admitted to the hospital after suffering a loss of consciousness and hitting his head, causing a brain bleed. Bridget (Ashley Jones) and Grace (Cassandra Creech) attempted to convince Liam to stay until the results of his test came in, but he refused and went to visit his daughter. Bridget and Grace immediately went to tell Finn (Tanner Novlan) about Liam’s exit when his test results arrived. Finn was anxious to locate Liam, and reached out to his wife — and Liam’s ex-wife — Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to find out his location. Finn revealed to his wife that Liam has a mass on his brain. Only to make matters worse, Finn shared that the mass is inoperable.

Clifton assumed the role of young adult heartthrob Liam Spencer (then Cooper) back in 2010 on the Los Angeles-based daytime drama. Clifton quickly became a fan favorite with his front-burner romantic triangle between stepsisters Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan (originally Kim Matula, now Annika Noelle). Clifton found himself within the top 5 appearances on the soap opera from 2011-2021, often ranking second in episode appearances (peaking in 2012, appearing in over 200 episodes).

However, a different story is being told in 2025 as the once front-burner character finds himself relegated to the sidelines with the actor appearing in just 15 episodes out of a possible 74 so far, meaning his character has only appeared in 20% of episodes, as opposed to his peak of 79%.

In discussing Clifton’s performances, fans immediately took to X to share their opinions. “Scott Clifton proves time and time again why he’s one of the best top-tier actors on this show,” wrote one user. “Anything I like about Liam is a direct result of Scott Clifton and what he brings to the role. Full stop,” lamented another. “One thing Scott Clifton is gonna do is act!” added a third.

Of the possibility of Clifton leaving the soap, one X user wrote “Really sad if Scott leaves as Liam. He had his flaws and hesitated between Steffy and Hope, but I loved his quirky charm and looks. I’m missing him on Bold!” while another user added “I would really be done if he goes.”

For his role of Liam Spencer, Clifton has been nominated for six Daytime Emmys and has taken won three times, with his last win occurring in 2017.

Clifton’s soap credits also include roles in General Hospital and One Life to Live.

Fans will have to continue to watch to find out if this truly is the end of Clifton’s time on The Bold and the Beautiful, or just the beginning of his next storyline.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EST on CBS and streams daily on Paramount+.
