Scola and Dani Dig Into an Explosive Case in New ‘FBI’ Sneak Peek

Dani Rhodes (Emily Alabi) joined FBI at a critical time when Maggie’s (Missy Peregrym) undercover task put her life at risk. She has been learning the ropes of working with the team and Scola (John Boyd) for the past few episodes. Partners need to know how the other person operates because knowing one’s partner can be the difference between life and death. “After a young girl goes missing in Queens, the team discovers the kidnappers used her as leverage to carry out a major explosives heist, sending them on a hunt for the dangerous culprits. Meanwhile, Scola and Dani begin working on their footing as partners,” reads the logline for FBI Season 7, Episode 18, “Partner.” Scola and Dani continue to learn more about each other in the episode airing tonight on April 22. CBS released a sneak peek that offers a glimpse into this as the duo chases down leads in their latest case.

Every action someone takes is a testament to their personality. It can tell you a lot about their motivation, intelligence, and the next potential action. Dani and Scola are after the team that stole the explosives, and based on what they can see on the scene (which is not much), these people are professionals. Dani and Scola are left with more questions than answers as they try to figure out who exactly they are after. Meanwhile, Scola notices a pattern in how Dani communicates. She never offers complete information, only setting up the other person to ask follow-up questions. He seems a little frustrated by it, but not so much that it affects the task at hand. Still, everyone makes mistakes, and the team they’re after made one when they left something behind. Will this cause a break in the case or be a nothingburger?

‘FBI’ Will Be Back for Season 8 with a New Companion

For the past four years, FBI has served as the lead for two other spinoffs in the same universe. However, following the news that FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted won’t return for the 2025-2026 TV season, FBI is left keeping FBI Tuesdays alive. CBS has been looking to add a new FBI spinoff to the schedule, and FBI: CIA was ordered. The show skipped the pilot stage and went straight to series, only recently casting Lucifer alum Tom Ellis in a lead role. While it’s unclear where the new series will fit into the fall schedule, it seems FBI Tuesdays are back. The new series is expected to premiere in the upcoming TV season.
