The ‘FBI’ franchise on CBS is experiencing significant shifts this year. While the original series, ‘FBI’, continues its successful run with Season 7, two of its spin-offs, ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ and ‘FBI: International’, have been canceled.
‘FBI’ Season 7: Ongoing Success
‘FBI’ Season 7 premiered on October 15, 2024, and airs weekly on Tuesdays at 8 PM ET on CBS. The series remains a staple in CBS’s lineup, following the dedicated agents of the New York City FBI field office. Notably, Missy Peregrym and Zeeko Zaki reprise their roles as Special Agents Maggie Bell and Omar Adom “OA” Zidan, respectively.
Spin-Offs Canceled: ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ and ‘FBI: International’
In March 2025, CBS announced the cancellation of both ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ and ‘FBI: International’. ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ concluded after six seasons, and ‘FBI: International’ ended after four seasons. Despite strong ratings, the network decided not to renew these series for the 2025–2026 season.
New Spin-Off in Development: ‘FBI: CIA’
Amid these changes, CBS is developing a new spin-off titled ‘FBI: CIA’. The series will focus on collaboration between FBI and CIA agents tackling domestic terrorism in New York City. Tom Ellis has been cast in a leading role, and Eriq La Salle is set to direct and produce the first episode. The show is expected to premiere in the 2025–2026 television season.
Looking Ahead
As ‘FBI’ continues to captivate audiences with its seventh season, fans can anticipate the introduction of ‘FBI: CIA’ in the near future. While the conclusion of ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ and ‘FBI: International’ marks the end of an era, the franchise’s evolution promises new storylines and characters to engage viewers.
