Taylor Sheridan Doubles Down: Two More Yellowstone Spinoffs Coming Soon

The Yellowstone universe is expanding once again, this time as a direct follow-up to the acclaimed Taylor Sheridan western drama. In addition to the spin-off starring Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, another sequel will follow a fan-favorite character from the 2018 series that started it all.

CBS is moving forward with Y: Marshals, an upcoming spin-off set after Yellowstone that will feature Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton. The show will follow Kayce as he joins an “elite unit of U.S. Marshals,” but no other cast members have been announced. Sheridan serves as an executive producer on Y: Marshals, while former SEAL Team producer Spencer Hudnut will handle showrunning duties. News of the spin-off was first reported back in March, but now CBS has officially picked up the series to join its midseason lineup. Check out the official logline below:

“With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty and the high psychological cost that with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

As of right now, Y: Marshals is the working title for the CBS drama, which will air on Sundays at 9 PM. It seems the show will arrive sooner than the previously announced Dutton Ranch spin-off, focusing on Reilly and Hauser as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively. Although deals have closed for both to return, news has been scarce surrounding the project. As Sheridan continues to be the busiest man on television, fans will take what they can get, we suppose. While the Yellowstone universe is alive and well, Sheridan’s Landman moves forward with Season 2, which just added an Oscar-nominated actor to the call sheet.

Another ‘Yellowstone’ Follow-Up Is in the Works, but It’s Not About the Duttons
surprisingly enough, another post-Yellowstone spin-off show is on the way from, you guessed it, Taylor Sheridan. However, it won’t be about the Dutton family. Titled The Madison, the new series will follow a New York-based family dealing with grief in the heart of Montana. The star-studded cast features Michelle Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh, Matthew Fox as Paul, Beau Garrett as Abigail Reese, Amiah Miller as Bridgette Reese, Ben Schnetzer as Van, Kevin Zegers as Cade, Rebecca Spence as Liliana Weeks, Alaina Pollack as Macy and Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel.

The Madison finished filming in late 2024, but a release date has yet to be announced. It’s unclear how it will connect to the parent show, but The Madison is the result of a scrapped Matthew McConaughey-led drama that was meant to serve as a direct sequel. Unfortunately, at this moment, it does not appear McConaughey is attached to any Yellowstone project. Check out the official logline for The Madison below:

“A heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.”
