Ramón Rodríguez’s titular Will Trent has had quite the ride throughout the continuing Season 3, with this clever crime drama providing more twists and turns for the GBI Special Agent than ever before. However, Will is yet to have a ride quite like the horse-based one waiting for him in the upcoming Episode 16, “Push, Jump, Fall,” as Will Trent officially goes Western for the week. Episode 15, “The Most Beautiful, Fierce, Smart, Powerful Creature in the Whole World,” saw murder hit a gorgeous resort, with the relaxing vacationers thrust into the midst of a murder mystery.
Scheduled to release on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, on ABC, Episode 16 brings the chaos of Will Trent to the calm of the country, as Will and Faith’s (Iantha Richardson) mission to track down a drug ring takes them into unknown territory. The episode will also continue to develop Angie’s (Erika Christensen) story, following her watching her mother pass away and then breaking her sobriety to drown her sorrows in the previous episode. An official synopsis for Episode 16, “Push, Jump, Fall,” reads:
“Will and Faith fight to clear an innocent woman’s name while uncovering a deadly drug ring; Angie spirals after a traumatic event; Ormewood grapples with his diagnosis, unsure of how much to share with those closest to him”
Will Marion Alba Return to ‘Will Trent’?
Although fans of Will Trent are still likely basking in the glory of the series being renewed by ABC, alongside the likes of 9-1-1, Grey’s Anatomy, The Rookie, Abbott Elementary, and High Potential, there has recently been some shocking news that has left a sour taste in many mouths. That news relates to Will’s newest love interest, Assistant District Attorney Marion Alba, played by the ever-brilliant Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin). With their will-they/won’t-they relationship leaving viewers gripped right up until Episode 13, there was an expectation that the current season would develop their simmering romance right through to the finale.
Alas, this won’t be the case, after co-showrunner, Liz Heldens, revealed that fans have seen the last of Marion for Season 3. “Marion is not going to resurface before season’s end,” Heldens confirmed, adding, “I think that Gina Rodriguez is wonderful. She pops off the screen. We love her. It was an amazing experience to work with her, and I wouldn’t rule out her coming back in Season 4 at all.” That closing statement at least hints that their story is yet to be concluded, but her absence in the remainder of the season will surely be felt.
Will Trent will return to ABC on Tuesday, April 29, with streaming available the following days on Hulu. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates on your favorite shows.
