This time around, Gordon is going from table to table inspecting the quality of the food, and you know what? It’s hot garbage. We all know it, and Gordon really knows it. He’s monitoring the output from the kitchen, and this gumbo — labeled “one of the best gumbos in the city” by the restaurant’s head chef — is more like sewage water, with Gordon describing it as “absolute sh*t”. Gordon even gets asked where he’s had better.
What is ‘Kitchen Nightmares’?
The long-running reality series follows Gordon Ramsay as he visits struggling restaurants to find out where they’re going wrong, gives them advice on where to fix them, and hopefully give their business a boost too — all delivered via his notorious tough love and colorful language. The show debuted in 2007 on Fox, and originally ran to 2014, while it was based on Ramsay’s UK series Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, which aired from 2004 to 2014 on Channel 4.
The series was revived in 2023, bringing new nightmares to a new audience as Ramsay tried to help restaurants get back on their feet following down years after the pandemic. Ramsay’s mixture of kindness, charisma, froth, and fury has always been a huge smash with viewers, and it’s easy to see why. Seeing restaurant owners take on the advice and actually turn a corner makes it all worthwhile, even if some of them truly are the meat in an idiot sandwich.
