Several 90 Day Fiancé stars have experienced tragedies and loss since appearing on the TLC franchise.
Season 7 couple Anny Francisco and Robert Springs announced in April 2022 that their 7-month-old son, Adriel, had died. (Robert, who has five older children from previous relationships, and Anny welcomed daughter Brenda two years before.)
“It is really tough. You just have to lean on each other, put your faith in God’s hands, and there’s going to be a lot of lashing out. You may not understand,” Robert exclusively told Us Weekly in September 2024. “Going through those obstacles that we went through of losing a child — and like I said, my wife can lash out — but it’s like, ‘Hey, are you going to throw gas to the flame or are you going to just put a blanket over it?’”
He added, “And I’ll just put a blanket over it, try to ease the conversation, just not talk about it, just so that it can die down. You just got to look for brighter days. It’s not going to rain all the time.”

Ben Rathbun
News broke in May 2025 that Ben, who appeared on season 5 with now-ex Mahogany Roca, died after battling stage 4 stomach cancer. He was 55.
David Murphey
Us confirmed in December 2024 that the Before the 90 Days alum died from cardiac arrhythmia and hypertensive cardiovascular disease. Murphey was 66.
“I spoke to him about six weeks ago for a couple of hours and he was hopeful that he still had more time. May he rest in peace,” fellow show alum David Toborowsky wrote via Instagram at the time.
Adriel Springs
Anny revealed via Instagram that son Adriel’s “heart couldn’t take it” after a hospital stay before his death.
“Our hearts are broken for you,” Loren Brovarnik told Anny via Instagram comment. “We cannot imagine what you are going through, but as always, we are here for you!”
Jason Hitch
The season 2 alum died at the age of 45 after suffering complications from COVID-19.
“He was surrounded by family as he died,” Hatch’s sister, Shannon, told Us in December 2021. “He will be missed by his family and many friends and fans whom he adored.”
Angela Deem’s Mother
Angela’s mother, Glenda, died several days after her wedding to now-ex Michael Ilesanmi in January 2020. The TLC star’s mom had been found unresponsive shortly before Angela and Michael’s wedding day.
“It’s driving me crazy, I wish I could leave tonight, but I can’t,” Angela said in a confessional on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. “And it’s upsetting to me that I can’t go. So, I’m trying to get a plane to get to the States because we don’t know the condition of my mother, and all I know is she can not be there when I get back.”
