Doctor Odyssey Missing from ABC’s Fall 2025 Lineup: Cancelled or Just Delayed?

The show has been replaced with the new series, 9-1-1: Nashville.

ABC unveiled its Fall 2025 lineup. Doctor Odyssey took over Thursday’s primetime slot, along with 9-1-1 and Grey’s Anatomy. It seemed like the perfect fit for the new medical drama. However, the show’s future is currently up in the air. It was mysteriously removed from the upcoming fall season.

Fall 2025 Lineup

Summer hasn’t started yet, but ABC is already thinking about fall. Last month, the network announced renewals and cancellations for its shows except for Doctor Odyssey. And once again, the network skipped the show from its Fall 2025 schedule, reports USA Today. Thursdays will look a little different with the addition of the new spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville. The new series will air at 9 p.m. ET after 9-1-1 and before Grey’s Anatomy. This is disappointing news for Odyssey fans who were hoping the show would set sail again. But this doesn’t mean all hope is lost yet.

Season Finale or Series Finale?

ABC still teased the Thursday, May 15 episode as the season finale. This could mean that Doctor Odyssey could sail on another night of the week. It’s also possible that the soapy primetime show will have a mid-season premiere in the winter. Or, to fit the show’s vacation vibes, it could be moved to the summer season. As always, ABC could move Doctor Odyssey to Hulu since it does well in streaming numbers. (Here are three reasons why ABC should save Doctor Odyssey.)

Although the season finale airs this week, the network still has time to make a last-minute scheduling decision. Reports suggest that the cast will negotiate contracts with the show’s creator, Ryan Murphy, in June. Check out the rest of ABC’s Fall 2025 lineup on the USA Today report.
