All In The Family :Archie Bunker Wore A Rolex

I thought I would change it up a little bit this Thanksgiving by taking a heartwarming look back at one of the most famous curmudgeons in history, Archie Bunker, played brilliantly by Carroll O’Connor. The original “All in the Family” TV series was the brainchild of Norman Lear, and ran from 1971 to 1979. As a child I remember enjoying many episodes of this amazing show. My Aunt Dora Jane who raised me LOVED watching All in the family and I remember she once profoundly quipped, “There is a little Archie Bunker in all of us!”Sally Struthers' life 'turned upside down' by 'All in the Family' success

THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!

The opening intro and outro from All in the Family is one of the most iconic TV song intros in History…particularly if you are old enough to remember having watch the show back when it aired on TV…
Carroll O’Connor who played Archie Bunker wore a two tone Rolex Datejust in real life as pictured below.

Carroll O’Connor and Jean Stapleton who played “Archie and Edith Bunker” appeared on a episode of the Donny and Marie show, and if you were a fan you will love this interview…

Carroll O’Connor’s brilliant role as Archie Bunker was played so well as he portrayed the ultimate politically incorrect, male chauvinist, loudmouthed bigot that believes in every single stereotype.

One of my favorite features on Jake’s Rolex World is exploring vintage Rolex magazine ads, and this one is just stunning and eye-opening in an amazing way!!! Why am I so fascinated with older Rolex ads like this 1966 Rolex Submariner ad from March of 1966? Because it conveys Rolex design intent and ethos, and it is just so cool, innovative and authentic.

Rolex history is just so incredible!!! To put things in a proper context, consider the fact this ad came out only 12 years after the Rolex Submariner had been on the market–that’s a half-century ago!!!
