Plot and Main Characters
FBI: CIA will follow a serious, by-the-book FBI agent and a more free-spirited CIA operative as they team up in a secret task force dedicated to preventing and investigating terrorist threats in and around New York City. The contrasting personalities of the two leads promise tense situations as well as moments of humor and camaraderie.
Cast and Production
Tom Ellis, known for his role in Lucifer, will star as one of the leads in the series. The co-lead actor has yet to be announced, with casting currently underway. The series is created by Dick Wolf and David Hudgins, with Hudgins serving as the showrunner. Executive producers include Nicole Perlman, David Chasteen, and Peter Jankowski.
Development Strategy and Future Outlook
Unlike previous spin-offs, FBI: CIA was ordered straight to series without a traditional pilot episode, highlighting CBS’s confidence in the project’s potential. While initial plans included introducing the new characters in an episode of FBI, casting delays led to a change in that approach.
