
CBS’ ‘Boston Blue’ Adds Another Star to Cast: Maggie Lawson to Portray Sarah Silver
CBS’ hot new Blue Bloods spinoff series Boston Blue has a new cast member!
Maggie Lawson has signed on as a co-star and will portray Boston Police Department superintendent Sarah Silver. Variety has the following character description for Silver: She’s “well aware of the tightrope she can walk sometimes between her job and her family.”

Maggie is no stranger to playing a police officer: she previously starred on the hit series Psych!
Of her casting, Maggie said, “Honored and excited to be a part of this family.”

EXCLUSIVE: Psych alumna Maggie Lawson is returning to the TV police ranks as a series regular on CBS‘ upcoming Blue Bloods universe series Boston Blue. She joins previously cast Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green and Ernie Hudson.
In Boston Blue, Wahlberg will reprise his Blue Bloods role as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan as he takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with Detective Lena Silver (Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.
Hudson plays the patriarch of the blended Silver family, Reverend Peters. He is the father of Mae Silver, Boston’s District Attorney, and grandfather/step-grandfather of Det. Lena Silver (Martin-Green), Superintendent Sarah Silver (Lawson), and rookie patrol cop, Isaac Silver.
Boston Blue is produced by CBS Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Brandon Sonnier & Brandon Margolis will showrun and executive produce. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed and Wahlberg will also serve as executive producers. Anthony Hemingway will direct and executive produce the first episode.
The series will premiere this fall, airing in Blue Bloods’ Friday 10 PM time slot.
Lawson is best known for her starring role as Det. Juliet O’Hara with the Santa Barbara Police Department on the popular USA series Psych for its eight-season run and subsequent movies, most recently for Peacock. She most recently starred opposite Janel Parrish in the holiday movie Sugerplummed and opposite Psych‘s Corbin Bernsen in the indie pilot Woodstockers. Lawson’s TV resume includes a lead on Fox’s comedy series Outmatched and recurring roles on CBS’ Two and a Half Men, Fox’s Lethal Weapon and Netflix’s The Ranch and Santa Clarita Diet. She is repped by Gersh and Principal Entertainment.
