NBC just canceled a whopping five shows.
The television network announced the cancelation of “Suits LA,” “Found,” “Night Court,” “The Irrational,” and “Lopez vs. Lopez” on Friday, May 9.
“Found,” “Night Court,” and “The Irrational” ran for two seasons each, while “Lopez vs. Lopez” got three seasons. The “Suits” spinoff, “Suits LA,” has been axed before the season 1 finale airs on May 18.
“Lopez vs. Lopez” star Mayan Lopez, who cocreated and starred in the sitcom alongside real-life dad George Lopez, reacted to the news via her Instagram Story on Friday.
“I’ll say more soon but yeah just in shock and grateful for what we created,” she wrote. “Thank you to all who loved our show like I did. … Lopez family forever.”
Mayan also shared a selfie of herself wearing a “Lopez vs. Lopez” t-shirt with the caption, “Forever the dream team.”
The actor previously told local California news outlet KGET that she felt “very confident” the family-centered sitcom would be renewed for a fourth season.
“I get lots of comments that say, ‘Please get a season four,’” Mayan said in February. “I believe in our show with what we do and create. I think it connects with people. I think people will remember it after the show does end, because I feel like it has been impacting people’s lives.”
While “Lopez vs. Lopez” is one of several NBC shows canceled ahead of the 2025-2026 season, the network has renewed “Happy’s Place,” “St. Denis Medical,” “The Voice,” “Law & Order,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago Med,” and “Chicago P.D.”
NBC has yet to make an announcement about the future of “Grosse Point Garden Society,” “The Hunting Party” and “Brilliant Minds.”
