Single Again? Why Will Trent Season 4 Might Shake Up Will’s Love Life

Will Trent won’t be returning until early next year, leaving fans to speculate about what the upcoming fourth season could hold. The season 3 finale ended on a cliffhanger, with the futures of the two main characters uncertain. That’s something that’s been hanging over viewers’ minds. Another hot topic? Will’s love life. Things didn’t exactly end well for him romantically at the end of the season, and fans are wondering what’s next for the troubled special agent’s heart.

Will Trent Season 3 Spoilers Ahead

It looks like we could see someone new enter Will’s life in Will Trent Season 4. In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, series star Ramón Rodríguez was asked about what viewers can expect from the upcoming season. Essentially, he mentioned that viewers can expect the show to delve into some serious and dramatic storylines that were left unresolved by the end of season three.

He brought up storylines like Angie’s unplanned pregnancy, Amanda’s health, and the arrival of Will’s father, who we barely know much about. That’s not all, though. Rodríguez also seemed to hint that Will’s love life could develop or change.

“We’re about to have these serious conversations. There’s some pretty dramatic moments at the end of Season 3, where we find out that Angie Polaski (Erika Christensen) is pregnant and Will is definitely not the father, so that’s something to explore. Amanda Wagner (Sonja Sohn), who plays Will’s mother, is on her deathbed. We just found out that his father, [Sheriff Caleb Roussard], is someone we don’t know much about, so I want to know more about that character and what happened to the mother. There are a lot of questions that we’re going to explore — I mean, is there a new love interest in Will’s life?”

Will ends Will Trent Season 3 as a single man. He and Angie started the season on difficult terms, and he eventually begins a relationship with a new character. That character is Assistant District Attorney Marion Alba.

However, their romance takes a hit after an accidental shooting involving a teenage boy. After that, Will begins to withdraw and become emotionally withdrawn. When they finally have a face-to-face conversation, Marion confesses her love for Will, but he doesn’t reciprocate. Realizing that continuing their relationship may not be the best option, Marion suggests they take a break.

In the season 3 finale, Will is by Angie’s side at the hospital when they receive the good news that her baby is okay. For a brief moment, it seems like they might make up and give their relationship another try. Of course, Angie will need to end things with Seth first. However, when Seth walks into the room, it becomes clear that Angie is truly ready to move forward and fully commit to a future with him and their child.

That leaves Will alone. But he probably won’t be single for long. When Will Trent returns for season four, we’ll probably see him meet a new woman. If you’re a fan of the series, you’ll know that Will has another love interest besides Angie.

Her name is Sara Linton, she’s a pediatrician and part-time coroner. With Will being single and a Pringle, this would be the perfect time to bring her into the series. Fans have been waiting for Sara to make her debut since the show began, so why not?

If not her, then definitely a woman who truly understands Will. He deserves someone who can understand his complicated past and support him through the challenges he faces.
