The Rookie Officially Renewed for Season 8 – Nathan Fillion Returns

ABC has officially renewed its popular police procedural drama, The Rookie, for an eighth season, confirming that Nathan Fillion will reprise his role as Officer John Nolan. The renewal comes after the series concluded its seventh season on May 13, 2025, with a total of 18 episodes. Season 8 is scheduled to premiere in January 2026 as part of ABC’s midseason lineup, following the network’s strategy of introducing new episodes after the fall season.
