There are a lot of changes coming for Jaina Lee Ortiz’s character Andy Herrera on Station 19. The hit ABC series that airs on Thursday nights didn’t hold back when revealing that Herrera’s ex-boyfriend Jack (Grey Damon) and her best friend Maya (Danielle Savre) were hooking up during a steamy shower scene at the end of episode 210.
That sounds like a huge betrayal on both their parts and there’s no telling what the aftermath will be like once Herrera finds out.
At the root of it, the relationship between Maya and Andy will always be there,” Savre explained during an interview at TCA. “We have a history with each other that can’t be broken. There’s going to be a lot of strain in our friendship and it’s going to be interesting to see.
Before, we had issues and conflict based on work and now we’re going to have issues and conflict based on our personal lives. I’m not sure how the season ends yet, but as of now, even with everything that’s going on we are still living together.
Maya lives by a certain code: she’s very honest, she’s very upfront and she’s blunt. She is who she is and I think she’s going to be tested a lot, which is scary. It’ll take some time to get to that uncomfortable space, but it will get there. I hope our friendship can be mended.”
Another big change for Herrera is dealing with the sale of her childhood home by her dad Pruitt (Miguel Sandoval). Even though she is currently living with Maya, it’s tough to let go of the memories she made in that house while her mom was still alive.
But the older Herrera is ready for a fresh start and that means getting a bachelor pad. Although, his single status may not last very long.
I have to mention something about Pruitt and a new experience coming for him in his life,” Ortiz explained during an interview with Forbes. “I can’t say anything more about that. You know, it’s been really challenging since Andy’s mom passed and she’s just been dealing with life without her mom.
You just see life from a totally different perspective. But it’s very interesting to live a life without the presence of your mother. And when you see your dad having experiences for himself without your mom, it becomes life changing and shocking. But at the end of the day, their father/daughter relationship is so unbreakable. I feel like, no matter what happens, she will always be her daddy’s little girl and she will always want what’s best for him.”
