Kaley Cuoco Considered Quitting The Big Bang Theory in Rage After Feeling ‘Blindsided’ by Co-Star’s Decision

Kaley Cuoco’s presence in The Big Bang Theory is one that gave the show personality like no other. The highly beloved series continued to make its audiences happy for 12 seasons with its witty humor, writing, and one Sheldon Cooper. What started as a series about four socially awkward nerds as they make their way through life, turned into a story of growth, maturity, and love that captured their audiences in the best way possible.

With the amount of positive memories that fans have with this series, it is unfortunate to find out that the perfect ending that the series had wasn’t all that perfect behind the scenes. It would seem that due to decisions that blindsided Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, who played the role of Leonard Hofstadter, the two almost walked away from the series as a show of protest.

Many believe the ending of The Big Bang Theory to be one of the best in sitcom history. It is because of this that it is extremely surprising to find out that the 12th season was not originally supposed to be the end of the series and this only happened because Jim Parsons, the actor who played the role of Sheldon Cooper, decided to part ways from the series. This decision of his was something that his castmates had not anticipated, as after the actor told the creators, showrunners, and then, the cast; Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki felt blindsided, as the latter talked to People.

“I was shocked. We were just blindsided that day. And not necessarily shocked by Jim’s decision, but that he hadn’t had that conversation with his castmates first to prepare us. So yes, it could have been handled better. We’re a family; have a conversation. And I don’t even disagree with how Jim felt, because in many ways, I felt the same way. I just disagreed with how it was managed.”

Galecki revealed that he was extremely shocked when he heard this news. The reason for this wasn’t the fact that Parsons made this decision, but that he did not prepare his cast meets before having this conversation with the creators and showrunners. He mentioned that if this conversation had taken place and they had been prepared for this, everyone may have handled this differently, feeling less angry and upset. He clarified that they did not disagree with his decision. In fact, in many ways, Galecki felt the same way. However, the way this was handled could have been much different.
