NCIS: LOS ANGELES is currently stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic but still remains one of the most popular action procedurals on TV. Fans have been speculating some major changes to the cast but one major star has spoken out about her future on the series.
Back in 2018, Daniela Ruah took a short break from her starring role as Kensi Blye by hosting the Eurovision Song Contest. In an unearthed interview clip with the NCIS: Los Angeles star, the actress explained why she doesn’t see herself exiting the CBS show any time soon. Once the coronavirus lockdown has lifted, Daniela will return to the series, and confirmed she sees her character continuing long into the future.
Fans are still eagerly awaiting the return of NCIS: Los Angeles as the thrilling 11th series was forced to cut itself short by two episodes.
The team, led by G. Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) and Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) are still on the hunt for their latest adversary, Argento (Juan Riedinger).
Production is tentatively hoped to continue later this year, but the remaining two episodes will kick start the highly anticipated 12th season of the show.
In the latest instalment, Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) sparked rumours of her departure from the NCIS family after revealing her intention to start a family of her own with new husband Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen).
However, an unearthed interview with NCIS star Daniela confirmed she has no plans of exiting the series in the near future.
Daniela explained: “I’ll go for as long as they’ll have me. I hope I speak for everybody but there’s nothing about this show that makes you want to leave.”
Rumours of cast reshuffles have been circulating the show’s parent series, NCIS, since it was suggested Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon) could be about to be replaced as Team Leader by a fresher face.
Since then, fans have been speculating whether long-running stars Daniela and Eric could see their actors settle down and bow out from the series in some capacity.
Daniela continued by gushing about her experience on the show, seemingly dispelling rumours of her forthcoming exit.
She said: “The writing is good the directing is good, the producers are incredible and if you need anything at all they will do whatever they can to accommodate you.
“It’s like ‘hey I have this really cool thing I’d like to go to, I have this event I’d love to go’ to they’ll be like ‘if we can make it work we’ll make it work.’”
In addition to the action series’ thrilling plot arcs and unexpected twists, NCIS: Los Angeles has been praised for its compelling character drama, including the developing romance between Kensi and Deeks
The couple made their relationship official in season six and finally tied the knot at the end of season ten.
Daniela touched on her time with the cast and added: “The chemistry between the cast and the crew is so alive and so real that you come to work and it doesn’t feel like you’re going to work.”
NCIS: Los Angeles has remained Daniela’s full time job since her introduction to the main cast in the backdoor pilot of NCIS, Legend.
She has since appeared in all 262 episodes of the series with no sign of slowing down
In 2011, Daniela also guest starred in a crossover with the rebooted Hawaii Five-0 with the main cast of NCIS: Los Angeles.
