A new addition to the cast of Chicago Fire for its upcoming fourteenth season has been revealed. It comes after the actor recently starred in another TV show from Dick Wolf which was canceled after a single season.
Per Variety, Brandon Larracuente has boarded the cast of Chicago Fire for Season 14. The casting is significant as this will be a new series regular. Larracuente’s casting follows the exits of Daniel Kyri (Ritter) and Jake Lockett (Sam Carver), as both are not expected to return for Season 14. Character details were not revealed for Larracuente’s role, and it remains unknown how Kyri and Lockett will be written out.
Larracuente was one of the stars of Prime Video’s On Call, a cop drama executive produced by Dick Wolf. The show will not return for Season 2. Larracuente is also known for roles including The Good Doctor, Party of Five, 13 Reasons Why, and Bloodline.

Chicago Fire Gets a Reduced Budget
One issue that fans have been a bit concerned about is the news that the new season will have a smaller budget. The show was renewed along with the other One Chicago shows (Chicago Med and Chicago P.D.), but securing the renewals also reportedly meant that budget cuts had to be accepted. Reports have also suggested that the shows will have shorter episode counts overall.
