Conner Floyd is joining the cast of Days of Our Lives as Chad DiMera, and we know exactly when he’ll make his first appearance on the TV show. The actor famously starred as Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV in over 250 episodes of The Young and the Restless. Now, though, Floyd is jumping ship and crossing over into a different soap opera.
The Days of Our Lives Instagram page posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Floyd. The picture features Floyd enthusiastically pointing towards his name on his dressing room door. However, what’s even more exciting is that the post’s caption reveals when Floyd’s first episode will air — April 2026. An additional email from the Days of Our Lives team provides further details about Floyd’s upcoming role. It reads:
Additionally, we wanted to share with you the recent casting news of Conner Floyd who has been cast in the role as “Chad DiMera” and began taping this past Monday! Please note, he will not be seen on air until April 21, 2026.

Conner Floyd is leaving The Young and the Restless to take over the role of Chad DiMera from Billy Flynn in Days of Our Lives. Unfortunately, fans must wait one year to see him as Chad. This isn’t too surprising, though, given how far in advance Days of Our Lives films (especially compared to The Young and the Restless’ schedule).
Due to the production timetable, viewers will continue seeing Flynn play Chad for many more months before Floyd succeeds him in the Peacock soap opera. Flynn already shot his last appearance in Days of Our Lives. He also transitioned over to The Young and the Restless (where he plays Cane Ashby) in June 2025.
Flynn’s final episode of Days of Our Lives as Chad is expected to air in early 2026. In the meantime, though, Floyd will be working on his episodes as Chad. Then, come June 2026, the audience will finally get to see Floyd in Days of Our Lives.
