
Blue Bloods rises through the streaming charts ahead of the upcoming spinoff series starring Donnie Wahlberg.
Created by Robin Green and Mitchell Burgess, Blue Bloods starred Tom Selleck as New York City Police Commissioner Frank Raegan, son of retired Commissioner Henry Reagan (portrayed by Len Cariou) and patriarch of one of NYC’s most well-known law enforcement families. The series’ core cast is rounded out by Bridget Moynahan as ADA Erin Reagan, Will Estes as Officer (later Sergeant) Jamie Reagan, Donnie Wahlberg as Detective Danny Reagan, Jennifer Esposito as Detective Jackie Curatola, Marisa Ramirez as Detective Maria Baez, Amy Carlson as Linda Reagan, Vanessa Ray as Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan, and Sami Gayle as Nicky Reagan-Boyle. Over the course of 14 seasons, Blue Bloods amassed a whopping 293 episodes.
What’s Next for the World of Blue Bloods When Boston Blue Premieres?
Blue Bloods might be over, but the story of the Reagan family isn’t done yet. Donnie Wahlberg is currently slated to return to the role of Detective Danny Reagan in Boston Blue, a new series that will follow the character and his new partner as they investigate crimes throughout the city of Boston. Boston Blue will also star Somequa Martin-Green as Lena Peters, a Boston detective whois partnered with Wahlberg’s Reagan shortly after he makes the move from NYC. The series is being led by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis as co-showrunners, along with Jerry Bruckheimer Television’s Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed, who will be producing alongside Wahlberg.
