Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg looks unrecognizable as he attends red carpet event
Big Bang Theory star Simon Helberg looks worlds different than his nerdy character on the hit sitcom as he attended a red carpet event.
Six years after appearing as the dorky engineer Howard Joel Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory, the now 44-year-old actor showed off his new handsome transformation. On Wednesday, April 9, Simon looked unrecognizable as he made an appearance at the star-studded AMC Networks Upfront event at Spring Studios in New York City.
Simon’s former character on the show was known for his eccentric sense of style, often wearing ill-fitting clothing featuring bright in-your-face colors along with an unflattering bowl cut. But now, almost a decade later – Simon appeared to have a major glow-up as she showed off his new facial hair and trendy sense of style.
During the event, the comedian was seen with his hair grown out in long, luscious grey-and-black locks brushed over to the side along with a full beard. Along with the actor’s new flattering facial hair and hair-do, Simon also showed off his impeccable sense of style as he stepped out in a blue denim blazer overtop a rust-colored button-down shirt.
The former Poker Face star paired the look with a brown striped tie, loose-fitting brown slacks, and a pair of beige suede loafers. During his appearance at the event, Simon was seen striking a pose alongside a number of famous faces, including Nicholas Denton, Lucy Punch, and Billy Magnussen.
Taking to a newly posted Reddit thread, many fans have taken notice of Simon’s dashing good looks. One fan wrote: “I”ll bet Simon is happy to be done with that god-awful Howard mushroom/Beatles/bowl haircut!” Another complimented: “Howard aged like a fine wine.”
And a third user added: “Simon Helberg is getting better with age! He is going to be the hottest Grandpa ever!” While someone else chimed in: “Hell yeahh. He looks good with beard.” Comparing him to his fellow Big Bang co-stars another added: “Simon Helberg is the one who aged the best imo.”
After gaining wide recognition on the Big Bang Theory, Simon has gone on to star in a number of films and television shows over the years. And now in 2025, Simon has been casted as a series regular in AMC and AMC+’s Silicon Valley drama. In the series, Simon will be taking on the role of Martin who is a billionaire founder and CEO of an AI company.
