Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan has been quietly enjoying a month-long getaway in Australia.
The Irish actress, 38, shared a carousel of photos on Instagram of her June spent down under.
“Got to take a break for the first time in what felt like a really long time and had a magic month,” wrote Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington in Netflix’s period drama.
“Feeling very sad to leave but very grateful to have had such a beautiful trip.”
Coughlan went on to thank Tourism Australia for sponsoring two of her hotels, including Sequoia in Adelaide, where the star said she discovered her talent for jenga and love of outdoor jacuzzis, as well as Capella in Sydney, which she described as being “in the middle of such a deeply cool city.”
Capping off her post with some humour, and showing off her knowledge of coveted Australian-made TV productions, Coughlan wrote, “But most importantly I got to visit Australia’s most impressive cultural monument, the MAFS Apartment Building”.
That ‘monument’ is more commonly known as the Skye Suites, where the Married At First Sight cast live (read: wreak havoc) for three months during filming of the Channel 9 televised experiment.
While she didn’t share any photos of her younger boyfriend, Coughlan was joined by 25-year-old actor Jake Dunn, who was in Australia filming Netflix’s upcoming series My Brilliant Career, based on the beloved novel by Miles Franklin.
Dunn shared his own photos of his stay in Australia two weeks ago, writing, “My Brilliant Career coming soon to @netflix.”
After they were first spotted together in January during an outing in London, UK media reported the couple had been dating since at least August last year, when they were spotted together at a London music festival, and were believed to be set up by a mutual friend, fellow actor Louisa Harland.
Harland, 31, starred as Orla alongside Coughlan in the much-loved Irish comedy series Derry Girls, which ran for three seasons.
Dunn is best known for his role in the Disney+ series Renegade Nell, which was axed after just one season last year.
Coughlan was previously linked to her Bridgerton co-star Luke Newton, however she dismissed the speculation in an interview with Time last year.
“A lot of people really want me to marry Luke,” she admitted.
“We have this gorgeous friendship. We have such a love for one another and this experience that I’ll never have with someone else again.
“Isn’t it gorgeous that a man and woman can have that sort of relationship with one another?”
