In the past few months, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) has had a lot of screen time with Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) in Days of Our Lives. This has happened after Arianne Zucker left the show as Holly’s mom, Nicole Walker. This, in turn, deepened the bond between Holly and her hip grandmother, who is also extremely sweet to her.
Puzemis recently spoke about her bond with Days of Our Lives veteran Suzanne Rogers.
Ashley Puzemis says ‘Maggie is Holly’s only other friend besides Doug’ in Days of Our Lives
Ashley Puzemis and Suzanne Rogers have had a lot of scenes together in recent months. Maggie and Holly’s bond has deepened during this time. After Nicole left, Maggie and Holly seemingly only had each other, and Maggie became both Holly’s mother figure and friend.
“She became my mother figure when I moved into the Kiriakis house, and we just began getting more and more scenes together. I think it’s because Maggie really is Holly’s only other friend besides Doug [III]. Yes, Maggie is her grandma, but they also have this open and honest relationship where they can just tell each other anything. Holly really looks up to her for advice, and, in real life, I also look up to Suzanne, too. She’s so wonderful and so sweet,” Puzemis said in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest.
Interestingly, before they got close on set, Puzemis was intimidated by Rogers, a veteran in the field. She expressed this in the interview, saying, “She is such an icon and has been on the show for so many years and knows all the ins and outs. So I was a little bit nervous to be like, ‘Hey, can we run lines?’ She’s such a pro, and I didn’t want to impose or anything.”
But working with Suzanne Rogers was not hard at all. Rather, the two soon bonded very well off-screen, too. As time passed, they grew even closer. Right now, Suzanne remains Holly’s closest friend and confidante.
