Red Reddington Is Target #00 in Explosive Blacklist Series Finale Sneak Peek

A new gallery of first-look images from the series finale of The Blacklist reveals that James Spader’s Red Reddington is on the run. The show, which is ending with the currently-airing season 10, originally premiered on NBC in 2013. For the most part, it followed FBI Most Wanted fugitive and ex-agent Reddington after he agreed to help a crack team hunt down criminals on his “blacklist.”

Everything We Know About The Blacklist Series Finale

These stirring images will be gracing television screens across the world in just a matter of time. The series finale will air as a two-parter on Thursday, July 13. The episodes, titled “Raymond Reddington #00: Part One” and “Raymond Reddington #00: Good Night,” take after the series’ trend of naming episodes after blacklist members and confirm that Red himself is the target this time around.

In a break from series tradition, the finale was shot on location in Spain, where it will takes place. As the remaining The Blacklist characters unite to track down Red, the show will be more expansive and potentially more explosive than ever before. The game of cat and mouse that has been taking place for over a full decade now will finally come to an end, one way or the other.

The ending of The Blacklist is still up in the air. Whether Red will be caught, killed, or find a way to escape likely won’t be revealed until the final scenes. However, these images somewhat evoke the closing scene of the 1991 thriller The Silence of the Lambs, which is in many ways an influence on the premise of the series and could thus imply that Red does indeed escape detection.
