Conner Floyd, who is best known for playing Phillip “Chance” Chancellor IV on “The Young and the Restless,” is set to take over as Chad DiMera on “Days of Our Lives” beginning in April 2026. Casey Deidrick, who originated the role in 2009, played Chad from 2009-2013. Billy Flynn then portrayed the character for over 10 years, stepping down in March. Funnily enough, Flynn left “Days of Our Lives” for “The Young and the Restless,” while his replacement, Floyd, is making the switch from “The Young and the Restless” to “Days Of Our Lives.”
Flynn’s first “Y&R” appearance as Cane Ashby aired on Thursday, June 19. He told Variety in March that he was “excited” for Y&R’s “slower” pace compared to “Days of Our Lives.”
“There’s more time to do stuff. But I was trained like a warrior here,” Flynn said. “There’s a different pace [here], but it’s made me the actor and the person I am today.”
Flynn hinted that his “Days of Our Lives” exit was his choice, telling Variety, “I think with this character [Chad], I’ve done everything I can with it. I’m looking forward to doing something new. I’m about to start a new journey and tell another story. It really is just that simple.”
