Jake Lockett, beloved for his role as firefighter Sam Carver on NBC’s hit drama ‘Chicago Fire’, has officially tied the knot with his stunning fiancée, actress and dancer Dominique Domingo! The couple exchanged vows in a breathtakingly intimate and spiritual ceremony on Wednesday, June 18, eloping to the serene, lush landscapes of Kauai, Hawaii.
Choosing a truly unique and personal celebration, Jake and Dominique opted for an elopement with only their parents in attendance, along with a videographer (Zac Ramos) and photographer (Ashley Uptain) to immortalize their special day. The setting was nothing short of magical: a private cove near Kalihiwai Falls on Kauai’s north shore, completely enveloped in vibrant greenery, towering trees, and fragrant flowers.
Dominique, who fittingly has the nickname “Mother Earth” due to her Taurus sign, Earth Day birthday, and profound connection to nature, shared with People that “the theme was about letting nature take the lead. There was no need for added décor because Mother Nature handled it all.” She emphasized their desire for a “serene, intimate, and peaceful” vibe, which Hawaii, with its “special and healing” energy, provided in abundance.
For Jake, the waterfall ceremony held an incredibly poignant significance. Months before ever meeting Dominique, he found himself at a waterfall in Yellowstone National Park, penning an unreleased song about the woman he hoped to someday find. This heartfelt ballad asked his future love to “stay true and be patient” for him. To be able to exchange vows with Dominique by a “tall, gushing waterfall” was, as he beautifully put it, “full circle for me.” Their journey from a chance encounter in a commercial audition lobby to this sacred Hawaiian union truly feels destined.

Intimacy, Symbolism, and Family First
The couple’s decision to keep their nuptials small was a deliberate one, prioritizing their connection above all else. “We both feel like anything bigger than our immediate family wouldn’t allow us to focus on each other as much on our day,” Lockett explained. This intimacy allowed their parents, who met for the first time that week, to truly bond, sharing a rented house and enjoying meals and movies together, making the family aspect even more special.
The ceremony itself was rich with symbolism, incorporating both water and earth elements to represent purification and unification. Ocean water was blessed with loving energy from their families, and then used to cleanse their space. Two vessels of sand – one from the Mexican beach where Jake proposed in Riviera Maya on January 30th, and another from Kauai – were combined into one bottle, symbolizing their individual lives merging into a shared future.
Traditional Hawaiian and Polynesian elements were woven in by officiant Moe Alaiafune, including the meaningful Honi ceremony, a sharing of life essence. Local musician Anjela Rose set the mood with acoustic guitar, playing “Let’s Stay Together” by Joesef as the parents arrived, and Ray LaMontagne’s “Born to Love” for Jake’s walk down the aisle. Dominique, stunning in the very first Maggie Sottero dress she tried on, made her entrance to Sabrina Claudio’s “Frozen.”
After exchanging heartfelt handwritten vows and rings from Lace Private Jewelers, the newlyweds exited to Daniel Caesar’s “Best Part,” a song that coincidentally was also chosen by Dominique’s friends for a congratulatory video, adding another emotional layer to their perfect day.
Following the ceremony, the happy couple and their parents celebrated with dinner at Bar Acuda in Hanalei Bay, with Dominique changing into a simple white slip dress from Zara.
As they embark on this exciting new chapter, Jake and Dominique are eager for “day-to-day life together” and to “see what [their] love creates.” Jake expressed his deep appreciation for Dominique, stating, “She is my dream, all the parts that I knew I wanted and some that I had no idea but am so grateful to have in a partner.” Dominique, in turn, admires Jake’s heart, adding, “I’ve never felt more seen, protected and held by a person than I do by Jake… We laugh together constantly and it’s one of my favorite things about us. But my most favorite thing is we do not withhold love, ever.”
This ethereal Hawaiian elopement perfectly captured the essence of Jake and Dominique’s love: grounded, authentic, and deeply connected to both nature and each other.
