Best known for: Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003), Angel (1999-2004) and Bones (2005-2017)

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “I always go back to the fact that the authenticity of the show lies within the characters’ drive to make the story move,” Boreanaz explained. “Especially for SEAL Team, it was pivotal for us to be able to find that balance between the missions, the alterations and complications of those missions —but most importantly, the balance back home and what that means.”

Neil Brown Jr. as Ray Perry

Personal life: Married to Catrina Robinson Brown since 2000; father of two children

Best known for: Straight Outta Compton (2015), Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency (2016) and Insecure (2016-2021)

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “That’s the thing about this show is that they constantly evolve, they can’t stay the same…” Brown Jr. shared. “The SEAL team is a moving train, it doesn’t stop for no one. Some people can stay on for as long as they can but then eventually, they get to get off.”

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “It’s a dream role,” Buckley explained. “I mean, we get to fly around, blow things up and shoot guns. I think that the subject matter is all about who we are representing and the importance of how we tell the story… It’s a TV show at the end of the day, but we need to be authentic as a network show portraying these guys.”

Toni Trucks as Lisa Davis

Personal life: Partner to Brandon Phillips; mother to son

Best known for: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012), NCIS: New Orleans (2016-2017) and Corporate (2018-2020)

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “For a long time with Lisa Davis, you saw her seeking comfort and stability [within] the team, because her own home life was so tumultuous,” Trucks shared. “And now, I think she’s seeing that there’s a price to pay for that, and where else can she be effective? So it’s a fun adventure and journey for her.”

Justin Melnick as Brock
Born: October 5, 1980

Personal life: Married to Whitney Able since 2020, father of one child

Best known for: Mayans M.C. (2023) and Justified: City Primeval (2023)

Watching Toni Trucks and Neil Brown Jr, AJ [Buckley], Max [Thieriot] and David [Boreanaz] go back and forth in scenes, every week I’ll focus on something else that they do.”

Tyler Gray as Trent
Personal life: Partners with Cristiane Santos

Best known for: Snitch (2013), Suicide Squad (2016), Northbound (2017) and Elevation (2024)

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “In Hollywood, it doesn’t matter if I’m here or not, these military shows are gonna be made,” Gray explained. “But if I’m involved, then I can help steer it to a place where I think it’s gonna resonate, be more realistic, more authentic and portray the community in an accurate way. That’s part of it.”

Max Thieriot as Clay Spenser
Personal life: Married to Lexi Murphy since 2013; father to sons Beaux and Maximus

Best known for: Nancy Drew (2007), House at the End of the Street (2012), Bates Motel (2013-2017) and Fire Country (2022-Present)

Thoughts on SEAL Team: “The show left a huge impact on me,” Thieriot said. “It was a really humbling experience to get to work with all these veterans and to get to tell these stories that, I think, were really important and needed to be told to support the military community. I think that show did an incredible job of bringing a lot of things to light and bringing awareness for people, and to be able to be a small part of that and to tell
