The acclaimed Catwoman actress will play Stacy Clyburn, the head of a wealthy New York City family who moves to the Madison River Valley in Montana. The official logline for The Madison is:
A heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
However, it was initially reported that The Madison would “follow wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash” (via Town and Country). It’s not clear which details are exactly correct, but tragedy seems to drive The Madison.
Emerging as her family’s backbone and the soul of The Madison, Pfeiffer is poised to replace Kevin Costner as the frontrunner of the Yellowstone franchise. As the glue that holds her family together after a loss, Stacy will carry the same weight as John Dutton, keeping her family together as he once did after Evelyn Dutton (Gretchen Mol) died.

For starters, The Madison is the only installment in the franchise that has no apparent connection to Yellowstone’s Dutton family. While the story could connect Stacy to John and his ancestors or kin in the end, it’s odd that the offshoot has no direct ties.
The Madison was officially greenlit in August 2024 and began filming in September, wrapping up at year’s end. While it could debut in 2025 or early 2026, there is no official word or marketing. That said, a trailer could drop or a marketing campaign could start at any moment, and with it, we can expect a new Yellowstone figurehead.
