ABC’s Will Trent Honors General Hospital With Throwback Title Sequence

The newest episode of Will Trent honored both the late Leslie Charleson and everyone’s favorite ABC soap, General Hospital.

Currently about to include its third season, the Tuesday, April 15 episode of Will Trent was titled “A Funeral Fit for a Quartermaine,” and featured a flashback to a young Will (played by Andres Velez) being invited to watch GH with Miss Pearl (played by Roxzane T. Mims).

When they sat down in front of the television, “Faces of the Heart” by Dave Koz could be heard as the 2004 opening credits of GH played, spotlighting the late Leslie Charleson Monica), who passed away earlier this year, and Tamara Braun (Carly). Then, in lieu of the show’s typical title sequence, photos of Will (Ramón Rodríguez) and his pup Betty were thrown into the GH opening before ending with Will Trent in the old GH font.

Will Trent co-showrunner Liz Heldens shared with TVLine, “I watched General Hospital with my grandmother. I would spend summers in San Diego, and we’d go through [the ABC lineup of] All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital, and we’d eat buttered noodles and drink Diet Dr. Pepper.”

Fans of the sudser were quick to voice their excitement for the crossover in the comments, with one saying, “Loved that they showed Monica’s first and showed the best opening ever,” while another wrote, “Shout out to ‘Faces of the Heart’ and @tamarabraun (my fav Carly).”

Others wanted to see the crossover continue, with one commenting, “He should guest star on GH!!!” while another gushed, “I would love to see @rodriguezramon on GH for real.”
