Minka Kelly recently shared a deeply personal and loving tribute to her boyfriend, Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds, for his 38th birthday. The 45-year-old actress took to Instagram on Monday, July 14, posting a sweet selfie of the couple along with a caption that truly celebrated their bond.
“This beautiful man has healed wounds in me he did not inflict — simply by being himself,” Kelly wrote. She praised Reynolds for “embodying true masculinity,” describing their connection as “the love that is vulnerable, honest and loving.”
Kelly, who began dating Reynolds in 2022 after being introduced by a mutual friend, confessed that he’s redefined her understanding of essential virtues. She thought she knew “kindness, love, patience, generosity, care” and “how to be gentle” until she met him.
Her admiration extends to his role as a father, as Reynolds shares four children with ex-wife Aja Volkman. Kelly gushed about “watching him father and love his babies,” and “honoring and respecting their beautiful mother. Doing everything he can to be absolutely everything everyone needs from him.”
The “Ransom Canyon” star emphasized how Reynolds “finds ways every day to light up the lives of the ones so lucky enough to be loved by him.” She concluded her heartfelt message, “His benevolence, his priorities, his values, and his honesty are all rooted in love. Their unique connection blossomed after they exchanged their respective works – Kelly’s memoir, “Tell Me Everything,” and Reynolds’s band’s “Loom” album. Reynolds told People in July 2024 that reading Kelly’s life story before they even met was “a really strange and awesome way to meet someone.” A source close to the couple shared with Us Weekly nearly a year later that they are “so in love.”
