Stephen Nichols recalled a milestone Stayla moment on the hit Peacock soap.
Days of Our Liveswas known for iconic supercouples back in the day, and Stephen Nichols (Steve) reminded soap fans of that with a memorable throwback the other day.
Taking to Instagram, the actor shared the first time Steve and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) had a love scene. The video footage was set to the song “The Woman in Me” by Donna Summer.
“38 years ago today… Steve Johnson finally let down his guard and gave Kayla Brady all his heart — and then some 😏🔥,” he began the caption on the video.
Nichols opened up about that time in his life and filming scenes with Evans.
“What a wild, tender, unforgettable time this was. I still remember shooting these scenes like it was yesterday. They really let love scenes play out back in the day, and Shelly Curtis shot beautiful montages. Here’s to that first time — and to all the love that’s followed. #Days #PatchandAndKaylaforever #38YearsOfLovin #ThrowbackThursday,” the soap star stated.
Evans popped up in the comments section to weigh in on Stayla’s very first love scene. “Holy smokes!!!❤️,” was all she wrote.
Fans also chimed in on the throwback as it left them in their feels. “I wore out my vcr tape watching that scene over and over again!😍😍😍,” said a fan.
Another fan wrote, “Nothing will ever compare to 80’s Days!! Absolutely iconic!!! 💜.” One fan declared, “Oh man, do I remember this! After all that waiting, the “payoff” was fabulous.”
