Bones, which premiered in the summer of 2005, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and, to mark the milestone, the show’s cast and crew are reuniting for the inaugural Televerse event. Per Variety, the new festival from The Television Academy is scheduled to be held live next month from August 14 to August 16 at the JW Marriott at L.A. Both Deschanel and Boreanaz will be in attendance, as will co-stars T.J. Thyne and Tamara Taylor, as well as the show’s creator and showrunner Hart Hanson.
The panel discussion will revisit the hit procedural’s 12-season run. Conversations will revolve primarily around “the show’s exploration of science vs. faith, the real-life forensics and anthropologist who inspired the series, the process of crafting the chemistry between the group’s ensemble cast, and the show’s resonance with fans 20 years later.” Even after all these years and two follow-up projects later, the show’s appeal remains as strong as ever. Though the event’s official itinerary didn’t outrightly state that the revival would be discussed, it’s almost certain that conversations will inevitably steer towards talks about the show’s future. So, keep your eyes peeled for updates that will pour out from the event.
What Could A Potential ‘Bones’ Revival Look Like?
“It would be hilarious. I think that you could take these two characters and really enjoy the banter between the two of them and how realistic and how frank Temperance Brennan can be and how gilded and how you’ve-got-to-be-kidding-me-that-this-is-happening that Booth could be as far as his opinion would be concerning today’s world. It would be a striking, striking contrast of humor and humility and it would be a very funny balance. Where would I see them? I would say our daughter Christine just got accepted into the Naval Academy. Or maybe she’s a Marine, and she’s training to be in the FBI program, and you find a dead body. And there I am getting recognized for an award. And I’ve got to get back in and Brennan’s there. I just think it would be cool. Anyhow, that’s just a thing.”
