While Will Trent season 1 didn’t end on any outrageous cliffhangers, some loose ends remain for the next season to address. Various developments have created a great deal of storytelling potential for the episodes to come. So when production on Will Trent season 2 begins, the series will have an opportunity to provide much-needed answers to six questions posed by season 1.
Who Is Will’s Dad In Will Trent?
Upon his introduction, it was revealed that his birth parents abandoned him, and he grew up in foster care as a result. However, when the season 1 finale arrived, it was established that his backstory was much more complicated than once thought. Amanda Wagner, Will’s boss at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, actually knew Will’s birth mother, Lucy, because she was a prostitute on Amanda’s beat in the 1980s. A serial killer was one of Lucy’s clients, and she became one of his victims after giving birth to Will. As for the identity of his father, that’s yet to be explored in Will Trent.
Will Angie Be Paralyzed In Will Trent Season 2?
James kidnapped Angie during the two-part Will Trent season 1 finale because he blamed Will for Lucy’s death and wanted to punish him. James brutally beat Angie, but Will found them before the murderer could kill her. Unfortunately, Angie’s spinal injuries could become permanent. After arriving at the hospital, Angie underwent an emergency decompression surgery, and doctors were able to stabilize her spine. The bad news was that they wouldn’t know how extensive Angie’s nerve damage was until a later time, meaning that she could potentially be paralyzed from James’ attack. Naturally, the return of Will Trent will have to go into further details on Angie’s condition and explain whether she will be paralyzed.

Will Amanda Become The Director Of The GBI In Will Trent Season 2?
During Will Trent season 1, episode 6, Amanda met with GBI Director Armstrong. He informed her that he was retiring and wanted her to be his replacement. However, Amanda later helped to expose corruption inside the GBI and the tech company they worked with, Selantus, and the case might have jeopardized her chances of getting promoted. Or, at the very least, Amanda won’t receive Armstrong’s endorsement when he retires.
Following the case, Amanda and Armstrong retained a strained relationship, and there was no update regarding the position of GBI director. Who ultimately gets this position could be determined in season 2, allowing Amanda to get the recognition she deserves. Such a promotion could have a dramatic change on the role she plays in the series.
Will Ormewood & His Wife Get A Divorce?
Gina invited Angie over to have dinner with herself, Ormewood, and their kids under the guise of wanting to get to know her husband’s new partner. However, she just wanted to confront Angie about sleeping with her husband. Gina knew all about their one-night stand, and it was obvious that Ormewood had no clue that his wife was privy to his infidelity. It’s possible that Will Trent season 2 will dig deeper into Gina and Ormewood’s relationship and that their blatant issues result in a divorce.
