In Yellowstone’s premiere, Beth’s loyalty is displayed with a simple line: “Just tell me who to fight.” John’s one-word response is a prophecy for the entire series when he tells her to fight “Everyone.” After a range war breaks out, causing Lee Dutton’s death in Yellowstone season 1, episode 1, John understands the gravity of the situation.

Although her role is not fully defined in Yellowstone season 1, episode 1, Beth Dutton emerges as a prominent character as the series progresses. After she comes home to the ranch and begins helping John Dutton protect it, Beth slowly becomes John’s right hand, along with her future husband, Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser), the ranch’s fixer and foreman.

Together, Beth and Rip become one of the most potent forces in the franchise by the end of the original series. Beth Dutton was such an essential part of the story that she will continue it in a Beth and Rip Yellowstone spinoff on Paramount+, with Reilly and Hauser reprising their fan-favorite characters.

It remains to be seen if Beth and Rip will have to fight “everyone” in their show, as they did in Yellowstone. Perhaps their premiere, slated for November 2025, will contain another hint about what to expect in Beth and Rip’s Yellowstone spinoff.
