‘Chicago Med’ Season 11 Spoilers Hint at Even More Ripley Drama — And Fans Are Over It (SPOILER)

If you’re tired of Ripley’s behavior, buckle up for pure exhaustion because it seems like we’ll be seeing more of it on Chicago Med Season 11.

The show is still several weeks out, but new details have emerged, courtesy of TV Insider, and it doesn’t look good for viewers who wish Ripley would be more toned down this season.

On Chicago Med Season 10, he primarily dealt with losing his friend Sully and his rocky relationship with Hannah.

In an inexcusable arc, the show redeemed him from his constant bad behavior, and he returned to the ER a changed man, or so it seemed.

But a development in Hannah’s life threatens to bring back the Ripley we don’t want to see.

Is Ripley Destined to Make the Same Mistakes on Chicago Med Season 11?

Hannah learned that she was pregnant on Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 21, but she was unsure who the dad was. There are some signs that it could be Ripley or Dean. That’s the mystery for the upcoming season.

She must have been unlucky in the rotary of life because none of these men are exactly great options. They all have their shortcomings that will make coparenting hard, if at all possible.

And for Ripley, the constant unpredictable moods, behaviors, and violence are a huge red flag.

When people learn they are going to become parents, many undergo some changes, some for the better, others for the worse. I’m afraid Ripley falls in the latter category.

He has this ability to make things about himself, and with this baby, he might make it all about him.

You’ve never met someone as insufferable as Ripley when he thinks he’s right and is owed something.

It’s always a battle to get him to see someone else’s side, even when he might be wrong. And when he runs into reality, Ripley opts for physical violence.

The last thing Asher needs is more Ripley drama, just when she’d (and us viewers) thought she’d moved past it.

Ripley’s Savior Complex Continues

Chicago Med has its share of relationships I’ve considered problematic over the years, primarily because everyone’s dating pool is just inside the hospital.

And when some go outside the hospital, it’s no less problematic. For example, when Sully died, Ripley and his widow tried to deal with the grief by falling into each other’s arms.

However, a short while later, Ripley saved a woman, Sadie, from a well.

Fast forward to Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 22, and Sadie shows up at his door, hinting at a possible romantic interest in the man who saved her life.

While not uncommon, it’s controversial for people whose relationships started as a result of massive trauma to start dating.

Ripley loves saving people, and he might not recognize how problematic that relationship might be to an outside observer.

The ordeal must have been traumatic for Sadie, and based on his past behavior, Ripley might indulge her, thinking he can save her from whatever horrors she’s carrying.

If his behavior when Sully was battling cancer is any indicator, it will be rough.

The new relationship, coupled with the potential of being a father, makes me think we might have an even more volatile Ripley in the upcoming season.

And if there’s anything we learned on Season 10, Chicago Med would be wise to avoid leaning into aggravating storylines that are poorly developed, and only serve to frustrate the viewer.
