Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage was put to the test in the season 1 finale.
The spinoff of Young Sheldon ended its freshman season on May 15. The sitcom follows newlyweds Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan) and Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment) as they raise their daughter CeeCee while living in close quarters with Mandy’s family.
The season 1 finale saw some big changes for the couple. Georgie tried to take over the McAllister family business, and Mandy was offered a new promotion at work — one that came with baggage, since her new boss happened to be her ex-boyfriend.
Their new professional paths created drama for Georgie and Mandy, but as showrunner Steve Holland told TVLine, “I love the way that Season 1 ends.”
“I love that it’s them together … realizing that they have a lot of stuff to talk about, and they have a lot of problems to fix, but they really love each other,” he continued.
So what are Georgie and Mandy’s new jobs, and how do they affect their relationship? Here’s what happened on the season 1 finale of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, aptly titled “Big Decisions.”
Are Georgie and Mandy still together at the end of season 1?
Georgie and Mandy eventually get divorced, as revealed on The Big Bang Theory, so fans already know that their union ultimately doesn’t make it. But for now, the couple are still together at the end of season 1 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
Apart from their 12-year age gap and unexpected pregnancy, Georgie and Mandy’s romance experiences more tension because of the latter’s previous relationship ties. After Mandy tries to hide that her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, she and Georgie have a hard conversation that’s ultimately productive.
“I guess we just have to trust each other,” Georgie tells Mandy after they talk through their respective monumental career choices.
“Well, marriages have been built on less, right?” she quips. “Guess we’re gonna find out,” he says.
Who is Mandy’s new boss?
Mandy is offered a promotion at the news station, going from morning weather reporter to doing weekend evenings, but the only problem is that her new boss is her ex-boyfriend, Scott (Christopher Gorham).

The two dated years ago while working together in San Antonio. Now, Mandy is married and Scott is engaged, but neither have told their significant other about their reunion.
In the previous episode, Mandy confessed to her priest and had guilty nightmares about her tricky predicament. In the finale, Mandy finally comes clean to Georgie about who her new supervisor is.
Her work situation creates some drama in her marriage, but Mandy still takes the promotion, and thanks to the raise that comes with her new role, she is able to quit working at the Bluebell Diner.
