🚔 First Sheriff Country Trailer Drops: Morena Baccarin Takes Charge in Fire Country Spinoff

It’s a huge day for Sheriff Country and Fire Country fans. Today, CBS held a press conference to tease all of its new series from this fall and, of course, Sheriff Country was one of the main titles. The network invited the production team, producers and creators to talk about the new show, and wrapped up the section by unveiling a brand-new trailer of the spin-off series, which you can check out in this article. The series is set to premiere on October 17.

As we expected, the trailer brings Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) front and center. We got to know a bit of her back when she participated in Fire Country episodes, but now we’ll get to see her in her element. An extremely competent professional, Mickey will spearhead a slate of thrilling cases in the new series. Her approach to crime and investigation will mirror some of the best fictional cops on television, but there’s one thing that will set her story apart.

The trailer of Sheriff Country also underscores that Mickey’s professional and personal lives couldn’t be more different. With a father that often meddles with illegal activities, a daughter who is having severe mental health issues, and an ex-husband that doesn’t always do what she thinks is right, the protagonist will be forced to recognize that the law can’t always be black and white, especially when it comes to her loved ones.

Will There Be a ‘Sheriff Country’ and ‘Fire Country’ Crossover?

How Fire Country's Latest Episode And Morena Baccarin's Character Perfectly Set Up A Potential Spinoff

Even before we knew that Sheriff Country would exist, we sort of saw a crossover when Mickey was introduced as part of the Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot) family in Fire Country. But now it will be official: at the same press conference, Thieriot confirmed that a crossover between both series is already in the works and that he’s excited to see how the shows will intertwine. However, he didn’t offer any details about how the two series will connect and just teased that fans should watch it in order to find out.

Sheriff Country is created by Thieriot, Tony Phelan (Grey’s Anatomy), and Joan Rater (A Small Light). Aside from Baccarin, the cast also features Christopher Gorham (The Lincoln Lawyer), W. Earl Brown (Deadwood), Michele Weaver (The Pitt), Vanessa Smythe (Trap), David Klein (Overcompensating), and Matt Lauria (CSI: Vegas).
