Chicago PD Season 13 Casts The Night Agent Star As A Fearless New Officer & Series Regular

Chicago P.D. season 13 has added a star from Netflix’s The Night Agent, bolstering the ranks of its series regulars. Although cast changes are common in the One Chicago franchise, the long-running procedural is facing some significant alterations going into Chicago P.D. season 13. A familiar face has been murdered, while another is making their exit.

Against that backdrop, Deadline confirms that Arienne Mandi has joined Chicago P.D. season 13 as a main cast member. Mandi recently starred alongside Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan in The Night Agent season 2, credited for all ten episodes of the Netflix thriller series as Noor Taheri.

Mandi will be playing Naomi Kerr in Chicago P.D. season 13. A former soldier and military contractor who thrives in dangerous situations, Naomi’s described as a fearless outsider who tends to keep her cards close to the vest. It’s worth noting that details, such as the character’s name and personality, could still shift as the NBC procedural moves through production.

What This Means For Chicago P.D. Season 13

It’s A Tense Time For The Show

Also known for her role as Dani Nùñez in The L Word: Generation Q, as well as co-starring in the Guy Nattiv film Tatami, Mandi boards the Chicago P.D. cast at a time of change. Some of that comes down to the common turnover, such as the fact that Toya Turner will not be back as Kiana Cook after one season on the NBC series.

There are more long-term ramifications, however, which stem from the murder of Deputy Chief Charlie Reid (Shawn Hatosy). The crime implicates Voight (Jason Beghe), which is one of the many things that will have to be addressed after the eventful Chicago P.D. season 12 finale. But the impending arrival of Mandi, who arguably stole the show in The Night Agent, is a strong addition.

In the role of Noor, Mandi arguably had the most interesting arc of any character in The Night Agent season 2. Noor had to weigh helping her family and assisting the U.S. government to great risk. As early as the season’s fifth episode, it’s clear that the hero of the story is lying to her and that her sacrifice may not end happily.

It’s perilous territory that Mandi performed beautifully, making her arrival to Chicago P.D. even more exciting, especially if the talented actress can get to work with some murky and tense storytelling.
