Chicago Med season 10 ended on a jaw-dropping cliffhanger, one that will seemingly have a frustrating resolution when season 11 premieres. As many will recall, Dr. Hannah Asher learned that she was pregnant during the NBC show’s previous finale. She then shared the news with someone unexpected — Dr. Dean Archer. However, it remained unclear whether he was the father or not.
Many would assume that the father of Asher’s baby is actually Dr. Mitch Ripley. The two had an on-and-off relationship over the course of season 10, and although they had broken up by the finale, the timeline could still match up. We won’t know the truth until Chicago Med season 11 premieres, but we might be disappointed by how it all unfolds.
Chicago Med Season 11 Footage Shows Asher Telling Ripley About Her Pregnancy
Ripley Is One Of The Father Candidates
NBC released a first look at the upcoming seasons of the One Chicago TV shows — Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med. In the footage, there’s a scene of Asher and Ripley in an elevator. It’s brief, but Asher spills the beans about her pregnancy to Ripley, and he isn’t too happy about the news (perhaps because she tells him in an elevator).
After learning that she is pregnant, Ripley asks Asher, “How could you not tell me?” It seems as though Asher waits longer than necessary to inform Ripley of the situation, and she doesn’t even grant him the privilege of a proper conversation. Of course, he might not be the father, but he deserves to know, given their romantic history.
If Ripley’s not the father but heard the news from someone else, he might assume that the baby is his. If he is the dad, then telling him should’ve been Asher’s priority. Instead, Asher and Ripley have this all-too-important discussion in an elevator at the hospital. They’re all adults, and it’s frustrating to see how Chicago Med season 11 is handling this storyline.
Who May Actually Be The Father Of Asher’s Baby In Chicago Med
Archer Is The More Likely Option
There are only two candidates when it comes to figuring out who the father is of Asher’s unborn child. It might be Ripley, or it could be Archer. However, given that it was Archer’s door that Asher knocked on at the end of the Chicago Med season 10 finale, it might be safe to say that Archer is the more likely option.
The audience never saw Asher and Archer hook up. They shared a moment a few episodes before the finale at Archer’s house that very well could’ve led to something more, though. We’ll have to wait until the Chicago Med season 11 premiere to learn the answer, but fans should place their bets on Archer.
Chicago Med season 11 premieres on Wednesday, October 1, at 8 pm ET on NBC.
