‘Elsbeth’ Season 3 Poster Teases New York Mysteries and Big Changes Ahead md18

Elsbethhas been captivating audiences for the last two seasons, and now, fans are tuning in to see what the titular sleuth (Carrie Preston) is up to next — along with which celebrity will make a cameo in her case of the week. The series, which is a spin-off from The Good Wife, finished its second season earlier this spring, and now Season 3 is set to hit CBS this October. Ahead of the Season 3 premiere, Collider is excited to share an exclusive look at the new poster for the show! After all, our Elsbeth is just a girl from Peoria, Illinois, trying to make it in the Big Apple!

The new poster shows Elsbeth looking around the Statue of Liberty. She’s wearing a vibrant jacket, as Elsbeth loves to do, and it looks like she’s on high alert. But after Season 2, it wouldn’t be surprising if Elsbeth is a little uneasy in New York City. At the end of Season 2, Elsbeth found herself in jail after she was charged with harassing Rob Bedford (Billy Magnussen). There, she had to confront the people she helped to put behind bars and come to an understanding with them. And with her best friend, Kaya Blanke (Carra Patterson), leaving town, there is a lot in Elsbeth’s life that is out of her control.

Season 3 finds Patterson as a “guest star” instead of Elsbeth’s right-hand, but characters such as Wendell Pierce’s Captain C.W. Wagner and more will return to their normal roles. But a big part of the joy of Elsbeth has always been the incredible line-up of guest stars the series has, which, in Season 2, included Preston’s real-life husband, LOSTstar Michael Emerson. And Season 3 is shaping up to be just as great with people like Stephen Colbert, William Jackson Harper, and more!

We Need “Case of the Week” Shows Like ‘Elsbeth’

Each new episode, Elsbeth has a new case to unravel, and while some cases last longer than others, Elsbeth often features a pretty cut-and-dry murder that our hero solves by the end of the hour. And she always has fun doing it. For a show that is primarily about the rich committing horrible crimes, Elsbeth does allow itself to have fun. Mainly in how Elsbeth herself behaves and talks to people. Seeing her look a little frightened in the new poster for Season 3 does have us worried, but our girl will always find a way to smile (and solve a murder).

You can see Elsbeth when she returns to CBS on a special night and time on Sunday October 12 at 9:30 PM ET before returning to its regular night and time on October 16.
